MIXTAPE vol. 2, a circular construction hit
The projet MIXTAPE relies on a design that is both clear and sustainable. The two circular prominences of the new Maison de Ville rest on a mineral base, naturally extending the topography of the Pont de la Poterlaz. This base, prefabricated in wood and concrete, houses a reversible parking structure designed from the outset to be converted into office spaces.
Above the murs en pierre naturelle of the forecourt, the superstructure combines wood and reinforced concrete following a rational mixed principle. The rigid concrete cores ensure bracing and seismic stability, while the wood box floors reduce loads and optimize foundations. The use of local materials — notably squared wood sourced from the forêts de Villeneuve — reflects a strong ecological commitment, while reinforcing the project’s territorial roots.
This construction approach, both systematic and adaptable, embodies a sustainable vision of public architecture: efficient, reversible, and in harmony with its natural environment.
